Slat Style Selection

Our aluminium slats come in different widths and lengths. All slats are compatible with any installation method or fence system.

  • 65mm x 16.5mm without centre web – this is our eco-slats
  • 65mm x 16.5mm with centre web – Structural reinforcement for fences wider than 2m
  • 90mm x 16.5mm with centre web – Main fence material

The XPRESS SYSTEM (XPS) is ideal for DIY projects and free standing fences on level ground.

  • The XPS is easy and quick to install
  • A small amount of parts provide a straight forward work flow.
  • They are the preferred choice when no gate is required.

The SIDE FRAME SYSTEM (SFS) is ideal for installations between established structures such as walls or posts. Side Frames can be installed on fence posts as well and provide a different look. More parts are needed for the SFS system than for the XPS system. SFS creates a minimalist look, hiding its frame structure.

Two Styles Of SFS

 Standard Features:

  • Requires less parts
  • SFS Side Frame is screwed direct to the wall/post
  • Uses 5mm/9mm/20mm Spacers
  • Requires Top Slat Locking Clip

Deluxe:

  • An “F Channel” or “U Channel” is fixed to the wall
  • An SFS Slat 9mm / 20mm cutout spacer is used.
  • Optional “Louver Brackets” can be used

Customer Examples:

The QUICKEXPRESS SYSTEM (QES) is ideal when additional flexibility is needed for overcoming steps. This system requires more skills and labour. All slats are screwed down separately. The QS system is the most budget friendly option, but also the most labour intense one.

Installation Options:

Customer Example:

Once the fence system is determined, we need to decide how we fix our posts. There are 3 main methods, depending on the ground you are planning to install your fence on.

  • Core drilled into concrete is suitable for installation on thick concrete slabs. A special core drill is required and may be costly. The advantage is a very sleek look once installed.
  • Bolted down with a base plate is an easy DIY approach. A normal concrete drill is used to drill holes in which the fixing bolts will be glued into. This approach is suitable when installing your slat fence on a solid concrete slab.
  • Ground set is also very suitable for DIY. You will need to dig a 300x300x600mm (widthxlengthxdepth) hole where the post will be positioned. The post needs to be cemented into the hole. This method is used for open grounds or soils.

You will need to respect following dimensions depending on the installation method:

  • Core Drilled: Add 100mm to planned post height as the post will sit 100mm deep inside the core hole
  • Base Plate: Deduct 10mm from planned post height as the base plate will sit on top of the solid ground and is 10mm high
  • Ground Set: Add 600mm from planned post height as the post needs to sit 600mm inside the hole
